Travel to Ireland with the Y

travel

For the first time ever, the YMCA of Austin is working with a travel company to offer Y members and participants a chance to travel together. A trip to Ireland is open for April 1-10, 2020. Members from all YMCA and their friends and family are welcome!

The ”Shades of Ireland” trip is led Collette Travel and a portion of proceeds will benefit the YMCA’s annual fundraiser. You can explore the world with your Y friends while also supporting YMCA financial aid and community programs. San Antonio YMCA members have traveled with Collette and had a great time! The YMCA of Austin is excited to expand our horizons and join the fun!

NOTE: While the early-bird discount deadline has passed, travelers can still book for this trip while space is available. Reserve your spot today!

Rezia Olson, Member Engagement Specialist at the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, shared this about their trip to Tuscany with Collette, the same company that is taking YMCA of Austin travelers to Ireland:

The trip to Tuscany was fantastic! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and now they keep asking me, “when is our next trip?’ Everything, from the day trips, the hotel, and the group dinners were handled with care and great guidance. I can’t say enough about Mara, our tour guide. I would travel with her anywhere. She was so personable and attentive and made the trip so enjoyable.

Our group really enjoyed the Tuscan Villa Dinner. The food and service was fantastic, but the cherry on top was when the DJ played the YMCA song and we all got up and danced. What a hoot! The day trips were amazing and the consensus from our group, was that we learned so much more about Italy and its history than if we had been on our own. Each tour guide in each city was excellent, especially the guide in Lucca. He brought so much insight into World War II, being that his grandfather fought against the Nazis. And what can I say about the cooking class….we got to actually make pasta and tiramisu from scratch wearing our little aprons and chef hats!

All and all, I would definitely recommend Collette Travel to anyone I know.

Thank you for everything,

Rezia
