Childcare: Day Care & Education

Infant Care & Preschool

Infants as young as six weeks old receive loving care and developmentally appropriate play and activity throughout their daycare education. As babies grow into toddlers, they learn colors, shapes, letters and numbers along with their peers in a socially active environment.

Afterschool Care

Children in our after school camps enjoy enriching programs that aim to give children a well-rounded experience. After school activities include physical activities, social emotional learning (self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making), creativity, critical thinking, and voice and choice, to create an environment for children to have positive social experiences.

Early Learning Readiness

The YMCA’s Early Learning Readiness Program provides a stimulating environment for children ages 2–4 years to play and learn while developing the physical, verbal, and social skills they’ll need to start school ready to succeed. Families are given the opportunity to understand the important role they play in their child’s development and school success. Through this program, we are able to strengthen family and community bonds between the child and caregivers and between caregivers and facilitators.

Parents Day Out

Parent’s Day Out is modeled on mother’s day out programs. It provides early education, hands-on experiences and opportunities for meaningful enrichment. Through instructional and interactive activities, games, songs, rhymes and stories, students will learn vocabulary and communication skills. They will also learn about nature/science through exploration and play-based activities. One time per week, we will offer creative movement, yoga or swim lessons.

Explorer Point at Northwest Family YMCA

Introducing Explorer Point: Groves and Caves at the Northwest Family YMCA! We focus on holistically nurturing child development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy trusting relationships, and build self-reliance. While nearly 1,000 children aged 8 weeks to 11 years old enjoyed Northwest Family YMCAs FREE Kids Play last year, we knew this space could more deeply support our children’s learning and development while fulfilling an even greater community need.
