At the Greater Austin YMCA, our school break camps are part of a larger network of Y camps that provide enriching, screen-free experiences for kids all year long. From arts and STEM projects to sports, outdoor play, and teamwork, every program helps children grow, explore new interests, and build lasting friendships while having fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Turn school breaks into adventures! At the Y, kids spend their days active, creative and screen-free while you enjoy peace of mind knowing they’re in a safe, enriching environment. From swimming, active games and outdoor play to hands-on arts & crafts, STEM projects and team-building, every camp day is packed with fun activities that foster confidence, friendships and well-rounded kids.

We offer fun and engaging day camps for 5-12 year olds at partnered schools and Y locations across Greater Austin, plus unique outdoor adventures at YMCA Camp Moody for ages 8–13 during single day, fall, winter and spring breaks.

SINGLE DAY CAMPS

(Ages 5-12)

No school but you have to work? When those single no-school days pop up, don’t stress. School Break Camps are here to support your family! Our camps give kids ages 5–12 a fun, safe and active space to learn, play and make new friends while parents enjoy peace of mind. Each day is filled with games, crafts and outdoor activities that encourage creativity, confidence and connection.

Campers are divided into groups according to age and will engage in age-appropriate activities and swimming.

The Greater Austin Y strives to adhere to smaller group staff-to-child ratios than the state licensing standard in order to provide closer supervision and care.

Our Winter Holiday Break camps give kids ages 5–13 a fun and engaging space to explore their creativity, stay active and celebrate the holiday season. Each day includes themed games, hands-on winter crafts and festive adventures designed to spark curiosity and joy. Parents can relax knowing their children are having a blast in a safe and nurturing environment throughout the winter break.
Winter Holiday Break Camp gives kids aged 5–13 a welcoming and exciting place to stay active, explore their creativity and dive into engaging activities that spark curiosity while parents work. Each day is filled with games, themed hands-on activities and festive winter adventures. Fun and adventure await every day of winter break!

Spring Break Camp is designed to support families by giving kids aged 5–13 a week of active play, creativity and a sense of belonging while working parents enjoy peace of mind knowing their children are safe and thriving. Each day is filled with fun activities, creative projects and plenty of time to play and socialize in a safe & nurturing environment. We’re turning spring break into the ultimate week of fun!

Looking for a camp that’s fun, safe and enriching? Our Fall and Thanksgiving Break Camps are packed with physical activity, games, creative crafts and fall-themed activities for kids ages 5–12. It’s the perfect opportunity for children to stay active, make new friends and celebrate the season through play and exploration while school is out.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have questions about our school break camps or how to prepare your child for a week of fun and learning? You’re in the right place. Below you’ll find details about registration, financial assistance, cancellations and more to help you plan your child’s camp experience in Austin.

Greater Austin YMCA programs and activities are designed to benefit persons of all backgrounds, and fees are based on the cost of providing each program. While participants are expected to pay their fair share, the Greater Austin YMCA will assist families that want to participate but cannot afford the fee. Financial Assistance will be awarded to working families that meet our income guidelines and/or can demonstrate a need for fee assistance. Since demand for assistance is great and funds are limited, we encourage parents to apply early. You can complete our prescreen questions while completing your online camp application.

Financial Assistance is available to school-age camps only.

Cancellation requests must be submitted to the Customer Service team prior to the start of camp. Make sure to use our online cancellation form linked below. These requests can take 3-5 days to complete.

You will receive a “Welcome to Camp” email once camp starts with contact information for your child’s program director if you have specific program questions or concerns.
