Parent-Child Swim (3months – 36 months)

A delightful way to bond with your little one while teaching them essential water safety skills. Your child will get acclimated to the water and explore at their own pace. Share quality time with your child and create lasting memories while preparing them for swim safety.

Preschool Swim Lessons (3-5 Years)

Swimming improves your child’s overall fitness and coordination, setting a foundation for a lifetime of fun in the water. In preschool swim lessons, children learn basic swimming strokes, water safety techniques and confidence in the pool.

Youth Swim Lessons (5-12 Years)

Give your child a strong foundation in water safety, developing confidence and fostering a lifelong love of swimming. Swimming improves stamina, builds muscle strength and boosts coordination. Learning to swim is an exciting adventure, and at the Y it’s fun for everyone!

Adult Swim Lessons (13+ Years)

Adult swim lessons range from water acclimation and confidence to competitive swimmers who want to perfect their stroke and form. Whether you’re fulfilling a lifelong dream to learn to swim, or you are looking for expert guidance to perform at your peak, adult swim lessons at the Y can help you achieve your goals.

Safety comes first at Greater Austin YMCA pools. Learn more about our swimming policies by age group and skill level. You can help us keep our pools safe and enjoyable for everyone by adhering to these commonsense rules.

Swim Test Policy

All swimmers under age 14 musts take a swim test and wear a swim band based on their swimming ability before entering the water. Other swimmers may be asked to take a swim test at the lifeguard’s discretion. The swim test consists of underwater submersion, a 25-yard freestyle swim and a 30-second water tread.
