AAdult Swim Lessons
The YMCA Swim Lesson Curriculum is a core group of aquatic skills every person needs to be safe around water. As the foundation of our program, these skills allow students to learn proper swim stroke techniques. Students begin with and build upon skills, helping them to celebrate their successes, build self-confidence, and enjoy learning to swim and water safety.
BASICS
BASICS introduces swimmers to the pool and helps them develop safe water habits. Skills are taught that focus on body position and control, forward movement and rotary breathing.
STROKES
STROKES works with students on the front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke form and technique. Must be able to swim 25 yards with basic rotary breathing.

“It’s never too late to learn how to swim. Aside from the water safety benefits, it’s a great form of strength training and cardiovascular exercise.”
