STEM Youth Programs & Education

For Ages 6 to 12

The YMCA is helping all children reach their full potential by supporting their unique youth development journeys. In our Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education programs youth are engaged in year-round STEM activities that nurture their curiosity, inspire creativity and teach them how to succeed.

Additional Information

Your child’s ingenuity and creativity will be fostered and encouraged in our STEM programs where experimentation is part of the process. Curiosity and resourcefulness help to develop a scientific literacy that kids need to navigate the world.

When children participate in STEM activities, they learn to creatively solve problems. STEM develops children’s critical thinking skills and helps them to gain comfort with failure and trying again. Kids in STEM programs work together in teams, which can help improve their self-confidence. Best of all, they are able to see themselves in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math careers.

“Science, technology, engineering and math can seem intimidating, but STEM programs at the Y are fun and exciting. Because of this program, now I know that STEM is for everyone – even me!”
